Webster County Georgia and our home on the web. Webster County Is a
small rural county in Southwest Georgia
(see map) and was
formed on Dec. 16, 1853 from a portion of adjoining, Stewart County Georgia.
Here you'll find a green country setting with a country lifestyle.
The census of 2000 shows our county as having a total area of 210.3
square miles with a population of 2,390 with 453 of those citizens
living inside the city limits of Preston. Although Webster County is
small with a country lifestyle, it is centrally located to three
larger cities (the smaller of the three having a population over
16,000) each with State Universities and Technical Colleges, and within
thirty minutes to an hour drive from anywhere in Webster County....
